- Prior to sleep; remove any make-up at or near the lid margins if present.
- With a clean fingertip, place a small amount of TLC along the base of the lashes of the upper lid of both eyes. Then, place a small amount of TLC along the lower lid margin of both eyes. Any excess should be gently wiped into the inside and outside corners of eyes. Some ointment will go on the surface of the eyes, and this is desirable. It can blur the vision, so only use at bedtime.
- In the morning, use a warm compress to the lids for at least three minutes by soaking a clean washcloth in comfortably warm to hot water. This should also remove any of the residual ointment from the surface of the lids and eyes.
If symptoms are severe some people will benefit by using the warm compress in the evening prior to placement of the ointment as well as in the morning.
Cautions & Disclaimers
As TLC is an ointment, it is recommended to be used only at bedtime as it can blur the vision.
TLC will help dry eye symptoms and red irritated lids. At times topical antibiotics/steroids are needed to treat severe lid inflammation, and TLC can be used as maintenance therapy. TLC is made in a sanitary but not sterile environment.
Remember to wash your hands before using TLC. Replace cap after using. If you experience eye pain, change in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye, or if the condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
